Letter to Nestlé

Dear Mrs Heynike,

As it appears your chairman, Mr. Bulcke, has not yet had the courtesy or the courage to respond to the Greenpeace petition asking your company to clean up your act and stop using palm oil in your products, I am appealing to you as the only woman in a position of power, to take notice and provide us with a satisfactory answer.

As a mother, you are surely concerned about the future of our planet, the destruction of precious rain-forest and the threatened extinction of the animals whose habitat is being decimated on a daily basis. But perhaps not, perhaps to you and your board, profit is all that matters. I can't believe you would be that short-sighted.

Until Nestlé does something to halt the destruction, I, my friends and their friends and theirs, ad infinitum, will not be buying your products.

So, I implore you to take this matter seriously and get your fellow directors to do the same. This is our world too.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sue Barber, mother and grandmother
